Windows 10: New Features

Users of this new operating system would enjoy the help of “Cortana,” a personal digital assistant. Cortana can learn about users’ performance and provide recommendations, reminders, and information on the Web. Users can communicate with Cortana either via typing or talking.

The new operating system also comes with Microsoft’s new browser: “Microsoft Edge.” Edge has a built-in commenting function where users can share comments. There is also a new reading view that improves the reading experience on web sites. The new browser works with Cortana to provide content that suits the user’s preferences.

Windows 10 comes with a touch-enabled version of “Office.” The updated suite of applications focuses on creating a touch-first experience. You can even work with spreadsheets without using a keyboard or mouse.

Gamers will welcome the new OS as it brings “Xbox App” on Windows 10. Users will also have access to the “Xbox Live” gaming network.

The new OS boasts the best experience for tablet and PC transition with “Windows Continuum.” In the new Windows, apps for photos, videos, maps, mail, and calendar have all been updated.

There is a new greeting feature called “Windows Hello,” which provides more secure and convenient access to Windows 10 devices. The “Windows Store” has also been updated.

It is not the first time a company offered a new operating system for free. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ/APPL) has been giving away the newest versions of its desktop OS for some time.
