What first sparked your interest in tech?

Near the end of my undergrad, I spent some time interning at the Financial Post. My very first story was on Elon Musk’s SpaceX trying to land a used rocket on a floating drone-operated barge in the middle of a gulf. Besides being infinitely fascinating and an absolutely joy to write about, the story was my very first pitch and published piece. The next day Shopify went public and that absorbed the remainder of my time at FP.

What makes tech reporting different than other news?

Cutting-edge tech is having a profound effect on almost every aspect of our day-to-day lives, and tomorrow always brings something new to the table. Essentially, each article about tech acts as a potential preview for what life may look like in the near future.

What interests you about technology stocks?

Technology stocks are great to watch because the market determines in a very concrete way which devices will define our future. By following the emerging tech companies, you get to see in real time which innovations fly and which others will falter.

Penny Stocks for Beginners  Penny stocks are often seen as one of the best methods to turn a large profit on the market. The low barrier to entry combined with the usually small market caps allows for massive swings that larger companies simply can't hope to match. But…

What Does Bitcoin Gold Fork Mean for Bitcoin (BTC) Prices?  It's looking like Bitcoin (BTC) is headed towards what appears to be another split, where a new and rival cryptocurrency will be created, much like what happened earlier in July when Bitcoin Cash (BCH) came on the scene. But here's the…

As predicted, Bitcoin (BTC) has only continued to climb since getting past that pesky $4,000 threshold. While the coin has been in this territory before, the major event that waylaid the cryptocurrency's progress was that unexpected Chinese ICO block. With no calamitous news hitting the coin in the…

Bitcoin (BTC) has once again surpassed $4,000. This is big news. While the coin is still far away from its peak around $5,000—although, knowing Bitcoin, would anyone be surprised if we woke up tomorrow and it jumped to $5,000?—getting past $4,000 was an obstacle that the cryptocurrency needed to conquer…

Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies, in general, are already well-known for their ability to travel. After all, for a "currency" totally based in the ether of the Internet, it makes sense that it would be one of the best industries for overcoming borders. No shipping required. Today, we're seeing a…

There's good news and bad news for Bitcoin (BTC) bulls today. The bad news is that BTC hasn't shown much in the way of gains over the past week. The good news is that it also hasn't shown much in the way of losses, either. And considering the wild swings…
