FB Stock: This Technology Could Send Facebook Inc Soaring

FB StockThis Could Be Huge for FB Stock

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) CEO has a big dream that he wishes to bring to reality this year. If successful, holders of FB stock may be in for a huge positive surprise.

Samsung’s “Galaxy” unpacking event was underway at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona when Mark Zuckerberg took to the stage to make a surprising announcement. His new idea left the audience captivated.

This young leader of the biggest social media company in the world wants to take social interactions to the next level. He wants to make Facebook interactions more than just photo uploads and status updates.

Zuckerberg announced that Facebook has already created a team that will make this a reality.

The Facebook CEO said, “When I took my first steps, my parents just took a pen and wrote the date down in a baby book…my cousin, when her son took his first steps, she took a photo with a camera. My sister, when her son took his first steps, she took a video on her phone. But I want to capture the whole scene.”

Zuckerberg dreams to stream his baby daughter’s first steps in virtual reality (VR) so that his parents and family can experience it even if they are not there with him.

Simply put, this new project will allow Facebook users to share their lives and interact with their loved ones in virtual reality (VR), both remotely and in real-time through the social media platform. Here’s how it will work…

Recall that Facebook introduced 360-degree videos on its platform last year. Last week, the company also rolled out its live video streaming feature for its global users. (Source: “Facebook Live video streaming is rolling out globally,” Mashable, February 19, 2016.)

The two moves complement Facebook’s new project. The company is now bringing 360-degree videos to Samsung “Gear VR,” which runs Facebook’s “Oculus VR” software. At the same time, Facebook is also building virtual reality apps and improving the quality of Facebook videos for dynamic streaming on Samsung Gear VR.

If you are following, you can see the clear pattern here. Just in case, though, let me spell it out for you: Facebook is going to let you live-stream 360-degree virtual reality videos! At least, that’s what Zuckerberg wants to perfect before his daughter starts taking her first steps. (For those wondering, Zuckerberg’s daughter, Max, is about three months old; that means the CEO has about six to nine months to achieve his goal, depending on how early she takes her first steps.)

The Bottom Line on FB Stock

Facebook is, hands down, the only social media platform of its kind out there. And it’s about to create a one-of-a-kind ecosystem of social interactions that no other company could have thought of or pulled off.

Zuckerberg wants you to be able to play ping-pong with your friends sitting seven seas across in another country and experience the match as if all of you were playing it for real.

I cannot think of a bigger science fiction story turning into reality this year. Needless to say, FB stock’s growth story is far from over.
