#2 Top Overlooked Penny Stock to Watch in 2016: UrtheCast Corp. (TSX:UR)

I profiled this company before, and I’ll probably profile them again. UrtheCast Corp. (TSX:UR) is a technology company that has developed a high-definition video feed of Earth from outside the Russian module of the International Space Station (ISS). Its cameras will provide HD video and still imagery, displayed on the UrtheCast (pronounced Earth Cast) Web platform or distributed to partners, that can be used for the monitoring of the environment, humanitarian relief, social events, agricultural land, and so on.

Because the ISS will not be operational forever, UrtheCast expanded its operations when it announced plans to develop the world’s first commercial optical+SAR EO constellation, slated to be deployed in 2019 and 2020.

In combination with UrtheCast’s suite of cameras aboard the ISS, and its two recently purchased EO satellites, Deimos-1 and Deimos-2, the UrtheCast constellation will help the company realize its vision of democratizing the view of Earth from space.

The company has a market cap of $255 million, $37.0 million in cash, and no long-term debt. Currently trading near $2.50, UrtheCast’s share price is up 64% year-to-date and 115% year-over-year.
